Keyword research SEO
The entire economy runs on one foundation: supply and demand. Do you sell cinnamon rolls, but no one wants to buy them? Then it won't be long before you switch to coffee rolls, for example. The online question is revealed, among other things, by means of search terms in Google. With a keyword research you find out what people search for and how often. Discover SEO potential and get ideas for content themes for your website.
5 Facts About SEO Keyword Research
About 8% of all searches in Google are questions. Discover which questions your target group asks about your service or product. Incorporate them into an FAQ page for increasing organic traffic.
Your keyword research is never finished, but needs to be repeated periodically.
There are five types of intent keywords to consider: information-oriented, navigation-oriented (someone wants to go somewhere), transactional (someone wants to do something), commercial (compare products/vendors), and local (nearby).
Long-tail keywords tend to be less competitive, cheaper, and often have more intent.
We use Google Keyword Planner, SEMRush and Google Trends to discover interesting keywords.
This is how we conduct keyword research for SEO SEO
Periodic keyword research is crucial to continue to offer your target audience the best content and thus grow organically. This is how we approach it:
1. Who are you?
Let's start at the beginning: who are you? What do you offer? Who are your customers and what do you want to achieve with the SEO efforts? We really want to understand you and your business. Remember that you may have different ideas for important keywords than your customers. Maybe they are looking for other terms than you want to rank on.
2. Keyword Planner
You have provided us with a list of keywords that are important to you. We supplement this where necessary with the information from our findings and enter it in the Keyword Planner. This is where search volume information rolls out about these search terms and related search terms that we haven't thought of yet.
3. Research your online competition
We use the search terms with potential and in the keyword report, categorized by subject. Now it's time to research your competition. Which search terms do they rank for? Are those the same terms as you wanted to rank and be? Are there missed opportunities that you can capitalize on?
4. Which search terms do you already rank for?
Doing a baseline measurement is crucial for setting goals, measuring success and determining strategy. We look at quick wins for keywords that you already rank fairly high with and we pick the best for keywords that you don't quite rank for yet. We use the SEMRush tool for this.
5. Selection of search terms
But how do we determine which keywords are interesting? We do this based on your position relative to your competition, but also (if applicable) based on keywords that are seasonal or region-dependent. We choose short- and long-tail search terms that best match your SEO goals.
6. Feedback
Once we've finalized the keyword research report and highlighted priorities, we'll send it to you. We ask you if you agree with this or if you have any comments or questions. If not, now it's time to start working on authority and content mapping!
